But why?
Over the past 20 years or so, the financial mismanagement coming out of Westminster has been quite spectacular. Living within one’s means is not something they even consider…there’s never a ‘boom’ just more ‘bust’!
Our GDP no longer covers the interest on our debt…just think about that for a moment and what has brought us here.
Politicians hate the idea of ‘ring fencing’ money, because if it were, it would be traceable!
Have you ever wondered why the Treasury never publish accounts? They may on occasion mention ‘ballpark’ figures, but no actual detail!
COVID supplied them with the perfect opportunity for corruption, so big that they couldn’t hide it. But don’t think for one minute that this was a one-off. Fiscal corruption and mismanagement are what Westminster does!
With the introduction of these massive Data centres, one assumes Climate Change is no longer a thing, because the two are incompatible, so here is my question. For years we have been paying taxes towards Climate Change policies, where are those monies now and why are we still paying those extra taxes?
Let me tell you where I think the money is going by the billions;
Wars…but not ours!
Supporting private enterprise companies that are sinking in debt.
Foreign Aid that we can’t afford at this moment in time, but that makes the PM look good!
A welfare system that is no longer fit for purpose.
But, hey, who am I to complain, I am just one of those pensioners who did as I was asked and paid into a works pension pot, thinking I would be looked after, not taxed!
But as far as politicians are concerned laws are there to protect them…not us!
Except in Edinburgh😂😂
They will now spend copious amounts of time trying to find any loopholes!! And if there aren’t any, they will make one, or just add them to expenses!!

Well there is a simple factual reply to your enquiry.
Leaving aside that a a Scottish Nationalist I always point out that Britain is not a country. There is no country called Britain.
‘Britain’ is a mirage!
The British Empire disappeared many decades ago and we are living in the post empire aftermath.
I do also tend to point out that England-as-Britain has control of Scotland.
As I say, leaving all of that aside, there is a simple factual reply to your enquiry.
In the post 2nd World War era dominated by the Hegemoinc power of the United States of America there has come to be only one acceptable economic orthodoxy.
The group think is that the neoliberal ideology is the only way to run an economy.
Of course they pretend that it is not an ideology, but that it is just the natural order of things.
It is an ideology of which one can easily read of its construction and the historic meeting of the mont Peleran society.
We used to talk about our society rather than ‘the economy’ and what was best for ‘the country’
(again they mostly meant England)
The USA uses its currency as a weapon and the City of London and the Bank of England are run to benefit a tiny elite.
This is why the rest of us are broke.
They have more money and wealth than can ever be spent!
We are broke because they are obscenely rich.
It is quite simple. 😦
Scotland must have its own currency and its own central bank.
If we do not we will remain forever a resource exploitation territory and a wealth extraction zone.
