Leaders should lead by example…..

It is not my intention to add to the furore of Fridays testosterone show. But I will say this, when a host allows the press to pass remarks about what a guest is wearing….things can only go downhill from there!

We can learn several lessons from Friday, mainly how not to come across on the media, for us it is usually SM.

I am sure, that most of you like myself are sick and tired of the online spats we see on SM, some can get quite nasty and personal.

Scotland stands at a cross roads just now and the world is watching, if nothing else we need to show them we are adults and capable of running our own affairs.

Playground behaviour does not look good anywhere!

A group of very serious people with serious intent have been working hard on our behalf. The first step has been taken and has passed the first test, but this is a journey of many tests. Our job is to assist not hinder.

Chinese whispers is a Childs game but one adults have adapted quite successfully.

Backbiting and Chinese whispers do not help anyone and have been the start of the downfall of many a Political Party, we must not let them enter our supply chain!

The words we use are so important just now, let them be positive and engaging.

We are Scots, we are canny, we can do this!

Some of us can no longer take part in protests or Marches but we can speak up or write.

I live with a retired teacher who constantly reminds me that, ‘there is no such thing as “can’t do”!!!……mmmm……not sure about that, but I know what she means!

We can all do our bit….. let’s do this together!

Know your audience…..!

My curiosity got the better of me today, and I ended up listening to Mr Farage speaking at a rally in Hull.

What is it about this man that resonates with so many people?

In short, he knows what angers people and his tactic is to wind them up even more! But strip away his motives…..does he sometimes have a point?

https://apple.news/AGUxiuuDbTLWCLlm6bAIn-A

Yes he does and that is what I mean by knowing his audience!

……especially when you have elderly ladies in jail for challenging government policies on SM!

We, need to learn how to ‘read a room’ and do so quickly!

Any Scottish Nationalist who values their life would not walk into a certain pub on Duke St, and start shouting about Independence!….or for that matter which football team they support!

We need to choose our battles wisely. Scotland has much fertile land! You would be surprised how little people know about their history, let alone understand what is happening within their communities right now.

Sometimes you can tell how communities think by the flags they fly or who the main employers are but out in the sticks or the center of a large city things might be very different. It’s all about doing a little research before you might go out leafleting etc.

There are those within Salvo Hubs who will gladly help you with these tricky matters.

Find your passionate audience and stir up that passion so that they too will go out and let others know.

The Kirk talks about spreading the ‘Good News’ ……well we also have some good news….Scotland is breaking Free!

Be the inspiration Scotland needs just now!

Mr Farage seeks to divide, where as we seek to unite the people of Scotland around this flag!

We need to have a debate……

A few elephants are wandering around and they need addressing.

The main one perhaps is the lack of unity among the Scottish Nationalist Parties and I am not convinced that even the best news from the UN will bring us together.

Party rivalry is almost akin to clan rivalry these days with the lack of trust amongst all running deep.

The ethos of all are Sovereign therefore all equal may look good on paper, but runs thin through Scottish politics.

How can we overcome this?…is it even possible?

There are within several Parties this notion of entitlement. Be it through having ruled or through size with Policies taking a back seat.

As we stand on the cusp of something big it would be nice to think for once we could all put Scotland first.

I note at least Starmer has got the message as the woeing starts……what was he said today, ‘Scotland comes first’?

I guess he’s heard about Liberation😅😅

We must keep our resolve and not allow any bribes or new Laws to distract us from our goal…..and no ‘own goals’ please!

An example of an own goal might be, for instance, to accept the strengthening of or more Devolution Powers! Please don’t fall for that one!

“Elephants” must be sent packing and if Party leaders won’t do it then we must!

We are one or we are nothing!

https://liberation.scot/

Not political…..just people!

Believe me, the woeing which has just started will end abruptly after next year’s Election. Labour has form and we are living with its consequences on a daily basis.

“Once bitten, twice shy”

Then there are one or two smaller elephants on the rampage, the ones who have popped up with their schemes sometimes based on material acquired elsewhere who then go off on a tangent. They tend to put everyone else down…..they are what I call ‘egos’ at large!!

I accept other people have other ideas but confusion arises when we try to walk more than one path at a time.

The Liberation route is the only one moving forward at this moment and wisdom surely says, ‘go with what’s moving’!

The momentum is ours to keep up and the goal is never to be diluted.

What happens when you leave your Comfort Zone?

If I was to answer that question in one word I would say we ‘grow’!…..and growing does not stop with age unless a medical condition states otherwise.

Comfort zones are psychological, they are the place where we feel at ease with less or no stress. And yes they are crucial to our sanity!

But is it crucial to stay in them?

No, it isn’t and it can be quite harmful to do so. The first thing to happen is we become complacent about everything that surrounds us, then eventually we lose the confidence to do anything about it, even speak our mind! In other words, a comfort zone can very quickly become a place to hide, even a trap.

You might not believe this but Scotland has a race on its hands…..a race against time!

As Freeports and SEZs start to gear up and spread, it feels like a web of deceit has been set to ‘bind us fast’ [Daniel Defoe 1706]

How much longer can we afford to sit in our comfort zones?

There are many kinds of comfort zones, from financial security or job security down to just simply wanting to stay popular in our circle of friends…….Staying silent!

If we in Scotland want to break free from our Colonial masters…..staying silent is not an option!

Step one has been taken, the first train has arrived at the Hague, and others will follow!

Now is the time to step out of your comfort zone, now is the time to speak up for Scotland.

Let Scotlands’ voice be heard around the world!

Tell them we are coming!

Who came up with the 10%……?

I suppose this is where religion and politics originally met!

A conversation with someone yesterday about Tithing led me to believe that this method was the forerunner of the tax system we now have…..but as we all know, it’s no longer just one tax and much higher than 10%! Sometimes it feels that we get taxed for just breathing.

We first read about the idea of Tithing in the Bible, …..religion has so much to answer for😅😅

Genesis 14:20: Abram “gave [God] a tenth of everything” to show his gratitude for defeating Kedorlaomer and the kings that allied with him. { ‘gave God’ meaning the Priest Melchizedek}

I reckon governments thought the church was onto a good thing here!

Hundreds of years ago the entire population paid these tithes, they were not entirely abolished until 1936 when the new system came into place.

These days governments use our taxes for anything that takes their fancy, including wars that don’t concern us. As for Kings……well they just continue to fill their coffers!

Neither do we give! they take, unless, of course, you are mega-rich!

For the mega-rich there are schemes and loopholes galore, why else did we exit the EU as they were about to close them? The EU Referendum was a brilliant exercise in smoke and mirror politics.

But then, so is the notion of the UK in any kind of shape or form.

With the advent of the internet and various search engines less can be hidden, but we still have to do the digging.

We are told AI is the most advanced tool out there, but as yet I have not yet hit that particular key!! Maybe it’s the word ‘artificial’ that puts me off. I have a phobia about things I don’t understand!

…..anyway, I reckon enough people are walking this earth who claim they have intelligence, artificial or otherwise!

The facts we in Scotland have been given are enough for us to act upon. As various groups and Parties work hard at identifying ways to share this knowledge perhaps you might have some ideas also.

If so, please share!

Spring is fighting its way through….as is…

Political Springs, otherwise termed as Revolutionary Springs date back to 1848, the first one being in Europe……Now it is Scotlands turn!….better late than never!!!

The Arab Spring lasted from 2010 – 2014, so please be patient.

They start because the people have had enough of the status quo, I think we have reached that benchmark!

If true, Mr Sarwar’s head just got a bit too at the weekend…..a rush of self-importance no doubt, or was it showing off in front of the boss?

Every day he insults Scotland and his pet poodle is worse. No wonder morale in the SNHS is low.

But I suppose this is the kind of Political world we live in these days……I am weary of all this playground stuff, are you not?

If politics is a game I’m not sure I want to play anymore. To be honest, the only thing that gets me up every day is the knowledge that at last we have actual movement through Liberation.

Self-determination is the right of every human being, as it is for every Nation. For many, even on a personal level that dream has never become a reality…..we can change that for so many.

A country with an abundance of resources should have no poverty.

Which one would you say we have?

Remember the old days of White Wash? … which covered a multitude of sins….well Westmister still uses it and buys it by the bucket full.

But as we know, the older it gets the more it reveals!

Archivists and researchers are very adept at stripping back the whitewash and bluster. Our truth, Scotland’s truth has been revealed and cannot be hidden again. What we do with it is up to us from here on.

Perhaps a start would be to insist history teachers teach the truth. What is a history degree if that degree is built on lies? I doubt if there is one history teacher in Scotland qualified to teach Scottish history!

How many modern history books will tell you that The Claim of Rights is still a legal entity?

Truth is important, it tells us who we are and how we got here. Although born across the pond, half of my genes are Scottish.

My ancestors [the Marshalls] are buried in this churchyard in Madderty, Perthshire. Hence my close affinity to Scotland.…. it’s in the blood and no-one can whitewash that fact out.

If the truth is not gripping you then it should, because we are living in exciting times, we are walking down a road never taken before and we have Salvo/Liberation to thank for that, not Politicians.

If Politics bores you then start to look at things from a different viewpoint! The in word for this these days is ‘reframing’

Look at it from the point of view that your heritage and culture have been stolen and replaced by some anglofied notion that you are British which in reality means English!!

Scotlands Spring has arrived, wake up and feel it! It’s been a long time coming so don’t allow them to whitewash it again.

Live the dream.

Accepting something other than…..

After all the hard work put in by the Salvo/Liberation workers, if we accept anything other than the gold standard first prize, we will not only have let them down but also Scotland.

Westminster will try anything and everything to keep us tied to them. They will promise the earth, the earth which incidentally already belongs to us, to deny and delay our dream.

Without Scotland, they are in dire straits and they know it and as such they will behave like all dying regimes do…..they will fight to the death!

But they will do so with the world watching on and we must remember that.

Many countries have trod this road before but perhaps not as important to Westminster as Scotland is. According to official sources we have assets beyond our dreams but are regarded by Westminster as theirs and won’t be given up lightly.

Daniel Defoe said in 1706, “We have catch’d Scotland and will bind her fast”

Every Bill, right up to the Internal Market Bill has been made to “bind her fast”.

…..and every bribe right up to yesterdays £200m has been for the same reason.

The temptation to take less will always be there for those who haven’t the stomach for a fight, comfort zones are difficult to leave…..as is the ‘gravy train’!

The whole movement stands on the shoulders of those gone before and those in the here and now who have worked tirelessly to get us to this place. And if I may add are still working on your behalf. This has only been stage 1, there is still a process to go through.

We must make sure that next year we put the right people in place to further the cause.

In the meantime, we wait with patience on those who will decide what happens next and make plans to move forward. One thing is for sure…..we won’t be moving backwards.

…..or standing still!

If only it was that simple……

It has been a good week for everyone involved with Salvo and Liberation, we must not however rest on our laurels. We all believe the submission will be successful, that however will not be the end of the matter……it will only be the beginning!

It’s a lovely notion to carry in our heads the thought that we can just say ‘bye bye’ to Westminster and hey presto we are Independent, but the reality is the hard work starts here! In some quarters the work has already begun!

There will a process and Westminster although legally obliged to help us through the minefield…….will not!

The ‘what’ happens after the edict, is way above my pay grade and if I’m honest my intelligence. So, like everyone else, I will have to wait for the experts to lead us.

But the very fact that we will have come this far is a miracle, and down to all those dedicated people who saught out the truth and whilst doing so found some other gems.

We know how Westminster will react but what about our own SNP government…..you know the one we voted for to get us Independence!

How are they going to react?

It could be said in one sense we will have handed them a ‘get out of jail card’….will it be too hot for them to handle or will we see a second miracle where they work with us instead of against us?

By the end of next month, we will have the answer to this very thorny question of ‘are we…….’

This will make the next 14 months very interesting, we will see a clear divide between the real Yessers and the pretend ones! There is no doubt that having the Scotgov on our side would make things easier but since when has anything been ‘easy’ for us or Scotland?…. Have they got the courage or are they so deeply anglicised that fear will take over?

Should they choose to ignore any ruling I guess the possibilities around next year’s Election will be more important than ever before. Because of the List system, there will be seats up for grabs and we must make sure those who truly believe in Liberation and Direct Democracy grab them!!

We must stand under one umbrella……a united force!

I guess the name of the umbrella has yet to be decided but once it has we must all stand under it.

This has been a game-changing week…..we now have to make that change happen!

The things people say…….😂

Honestly, do Politicians ever listen to themselves?

If they are going to use sound bites at least make them credible.

Scotland needs to follow Wales to make lying in Parliament and making false promises during an Election a crime, punishable by sacking!

But will they……no chance!

For all Sarwars promises this weekend, few if any will make next year’s Manifesto because that will be written by his boss in London.

……I see that those outside were not impressed with his weasely words and tomorrow might be even worse for him.

We were out for lunch with friends today and the conversation turned to Trump! If ever there was a name to spoil ones lunch, that name is!

And if ever a more dangerous man entered the White House, he is that man. The right-wing Fundamentalists believe he is “God’s man”…..well, I suppose if you’re thinking in terms of Armageddon….he might well be!

However, turning to the good news, Salvo/Liberation got a mention in the National….surprise, surprise. They were a bit light on detail, but it’s a start.

The conversation has started but much still needs to be done, and we cannot afford to take our eyes off what is happening on the ground.

https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/news/6698557/fire-rothienorman-battery-storage/

What is it about our ScotGov that they think they have the right to allow our land to be destroyed in such a way? Who researches these projects or are they just waved through with a nod +? I will let you decide what the + stands for!!

The start of things to come?

……or, can we end it next year?

If we are to end the Sale of Scotland, it will take us all to do it.

Do you care enough to do something about it, if so join the groups and campaigns fighting to save this land and return it to Scottish Sovereignty.

The ‘get out of jail’ card has arrived in the Hague, when the door is opened only you can decide whether to walk out or stay in!

I know what I will be doing because I want to live the last years of my life in a free land!

If it’s within your capability……

As a ‘Senior’ I constantly have to remind myself of my capabilities.

Being old does not mean being ‘out’ or done!

People, when at any kind of Indy meeting these days often ask ‘Where are the young people’? Its a valid question and one we need to answer but we should not then just move on without looking at the positives in the room.

I am forever the optomist, when I go into a room where the majority are elderly, I see a room full of wisdom and experience.

…..something never to be discounted!

We are not out of anything until our capacity becomes greatly diminished and that by the way will happen to everyone at some point or another.

Cognitive capacity just doesn’t disappear overnight, unless through something like a stroke. According to research we peak in our 40-50 then very slowly decline….but then…

initially at a slow pace, but accelerating as the late seventies are reached.” (Schaie, 1989).

Which, in my case, means I had better keep writing whilst I can😂

In the 1980s when this kind of research was being carried out many factors were not taken into consideration, like genetics etc. My family history shows for instance that we have a long history of longevity.

Each person is different and there are ways to slow mental decline. My way is to engage and write!

Why am I writing about this? Because many people try to write us off and many older people believe they are ‘past it’ and have nothing to offer.

Some may very well have less capacity than others but what we do have we can use!

Those of us born in the 40s and 50s bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table. We are not the ‘instant’ generation, we were the thinkers, the builders of the nation we now live in.….oh yes….and the rock and rollers😅

Seriously though, believe in yourself and what you can still give to humanity because humanity needs you.
