I often write about choices and consequences of our actions.
What we say or do in the heat of the moment can have consequences far beyond just personal ones.
Every party and organization has what I call ‘lone wolves’ within its membership. Some can be rained in, but others will invariably do their own thing, giving no thought to the wider consequences of their actions. They are not team members, their egos won’t let them be.
When a ‘lone wolf’ steps out of line, how an organization or party deals with the situation will define it forever.
The act of the ‘lone wolf’ becomes secondary to the response of those at the top table.
I get that sometimes the act of the ‘lone wolf’ can be seen by some as funny or even appropriate but if Laws have been broken, we jump into a different dimension!
Bad publicity is bad publicity in any shape or form.
Politicians are not good when it comes to these kind of problems…..they should be because, they get plenty of practice!! Organizations however can be shaken to the core, this would not be the time to buckle, but time to buckle up!…… and show strong leadership skills.
We have some strong leaders in Scotland and the continual battle for Liberation will bring them to the fore, some are already at the front, and others are still growing into that role. They will all require our supportfor the times difficulties may arise.
We grow through trials and tribulations and part of that is having to make some tough decisions. Believe me, I know what its like to have to make tough decisions about colleagues at work.
Sentimentalism should never replace professionalism. It can run alongside it but not replace it.
When it comes to Unity within the YES movement, there is always room for more to come to the top table!
The more groups and Parties prepared to put Scotland first before themselves, the greater the chance of success.
For any campaign to be a success you have to know what your audience want and Liberate Scotland certainly knows what the YES movement wants. Liberation, [Independence] for Scotland and Unity within the movement.
The days of dependingon London giving the nod to Referendums have gone, another road has opened up and it is right to take it. There is no shame in saying ‘We tried’, the shame is pretending it’s still open and still the only one.
Liberation believes in Direct democracy, where People not Politicians hold the power, this appears to be a bridge too far for some others.
I invite you just to take a step back and look at where we are just now with our present crop of Politicians and Parties. Britain is now one of the most corrupt countries in the world. We live in a world of dodgy deals and backhanders. Private companies decree what happensand when and you and I pay the price.
Direct Democracy offers something very different and many countries are taking that route, no wonder some would be politicians fear it!
Power in the hands of the People…..not just a dream but a real possibility!
Only a few weeks ago I felt an air of optimism regarding a unifying move towards Liberation, [ Independence ].
Positive words were spoken, a promise even to hold a hand out to other Independence Parties. A motion was passed supporting Salvo’s case going to the UN…it all looked and felt so positive.
Did so many of the wider movement really misunderstand the words we heard, did we just hear what we wanted to hear or was there something else happening behind the scenes?
Has Alba misunderstood the thinking behind all the YES groups and Parties coming under the one Banner of Liberation yet still being able to remain autonomous and stand their Candidates?
I am genuinely curious because, for a Plebiscite Election to work, we must work together. Five groups are already working under the Liberate Scotland umbrella…..so whats’s the problem Kenny?
The problem with ‘lone wolves’ is they end up isolated, which by the looks of it, is exactly what’s happening here. In Politics the power is in numbers, none more so than in next year’s election.
Thankfully we each have our own vote, so we will each bear the responsibility of making our vote for Libertion count.
Self-promotion is one thing but let us be careful we don’t turn it into arrogance.
Collaboration with others will win the day for Scotland.
Moving on from trauma is not easy but it is something we must do in order to survive and what better motivation could I have than this….
I…..we are biological women after all!
The response from the Scottish Government, or parts of it will be interesting.
Over the past few years, there has been a section of our society who for their reasons have tried to diminish not only the rights of women but change the whole definition of what a woman is. Today they lost that fight and now we women must walk forward with our heads held high demanding these wrongs be righted and our rights be respected.
Sex not gender is the Law!
Our Scottish MSPs who have succumbed to this ideology should hang their heads in shame…….but will they?
The organizations that fell into line must also beat a retreat, including Fife NHS!
It is indeed a day to celebrate and I feel proud to be part of a Party that put sex before Gender and no self-ID.
Let us now move on to another battle, moving together under one banner.
If I have learned anything over the past few weeks it is to keep my mouth shut and my mind open!
It is a lesson many need to learn whether grieving or not. A little bit of understanding of where others are at would go a long way to healing many hurts.
Wee Scots may be ‘canny’ but we can also be very verbal and it is that verbosity that can lead us into all kinds of bother. Once the word or words are out, they are out and the hardest word to find after that is…….sorry!
I may have been silent through my own grief lately but I have been watching and listening and what I have seen and heard amid all the fallouts makes me ask myself, can we rise above it or will we allow the prize to slip between our hands?
In a game of chess, it is not always wise to sacrifice the pawns.
But this is not a game and we need to take everyone with us. Let us not fall into the trap of putting people on pedestals, parties and organizations have risen and fallen on that rock.
We are all Sovereign, so let us all take our equal place in the rebuilding of our Nation.
We have thrown the first Salvo, let it land where it will and move on from there.
This will be the last blog I write for a while as I wind down before my surgery next week.…a lot can happen, especially when your surgeon spends about 30 secs on the positives, then 5mins about what can go wrong like ‘you could die, have a heart attack or a stroke during the operation🤔😂….then you very nervously sign on the dotted line!!
This blog may challenge some people’s thinking of events, so beware!!
For all the doubters of ‘who said what’ and where the original policies came from, I have decided its time for truth, because I am sick and tired of hearing Politicians and Leaders talk about ‘honesty’and then in the next breath lie….or is it ‘misspeaking’ these days?
Either way, light needs to be shed on this myth of ‘we are the only…or we are the first…..!
The easiest way to do that is to show quotes from a couple of emails that were exchanged only days prior to the 2021 Scottish Election being announced, between two prominent people, I will leave you to guess who!!!
1st quote;
Reply:
Two days later a new Party appeared and low and behold about a week later a few Policies appeared word for word to the ones found to be ‘attractive’!![Pleblicite election being one of them!]
That was not a coincidence it was strategy!….so a bit of honesty would be appreciated…..and acknowledgement…..or is that a bridge too far?!
What these emails showed was that one person was on a fishing exercise, knowing full well a new Party was about to be born!
If people are going to shout about ‘honesty’ then it should start with them or they are a busted flush before they even start!
Truth is sometimes difficult to deal withbut deal with it we must.
We have had centuries of deception in Scotland and we are quite right to shine a light on it……but please do not replace it with another kind of deception. We can be better than this!
Every day Westminster shows how deceitful it is as now even GB Energy fades before our eyes.
Scotland must aim high in its standards for governance or we just get more of the same. Integrity matters and we should demand it from those who seek to lead us.
To date 15 or is it 16 now, SNP MSPs have declared they are not standing for re-election next year and there is little doubt that more will follow. Add to that ‘the great unwanted’!….[those who won’t get through selectionagain because they opposed something or someone!]The number will be higher.
How can the FM stop this domino effect? Is it an SNP problem or just a coincidence? Whatever the answer to that question is we are going to see some big changes in Holyrood next year.
This offers up a chance, at least on the List of not just new faces but also new Parties, remembering also that Ash Regan is not an ‘elected’ Alba MSP! I state that as a fact and not a criticism!
Will Holyrood revert to what it was intended to be, a Rainbow Parliament? Where smaller parties were given a voice!
I have always believed that a country is best served by a coalition Parliament. Scotland certainly was. History shows that too much power in the hands of one Party can lead to totalitarianism with mini Dictators at the helm.
Don’t you just hate it when Leaders use the ‘royal WE’ all the time……especially when thousands upon thousands are taking to the streets to oppose them?
This is how it should be in Scotland and this is what Liberation.scot is all about….Direct Democracy!
Now, let me clear something up regarding Pleblicite elections. Dave was quite right to correct Ash Regan in her assertion that it was she who first brought up the idea, but what was missing from that conversation was, that the 1st Partyever to include it in its Manifesto and officially recorded Policies was the ISP! in 2000……
Don’t airbrush out the truth because if we do, we cannot in the next breath talk about Direct Democracy!
..…..and next year’s election must be about Direct Democracy if we want real change to happen.
The world is changing now almost daily, therefore we the people of Scotland have to makesome big decisions next year…..who do we trust to take Scotland forwardinto the next decade and beyond?
At a time when everything is becoming very secret down south, we in Scotland need to be more open…
So, is it to be more of the same and let continuity kick in or do we have the courage to say…
At least by next year, we will know whether or not the Liberation submission has been accepted for further consideration by the c-24 committee. That alone will be a huge move forward. So please don’t underestimate its importance, because when it does we will be holding a whole new deck of cards in a whole new game!
…..and we need to start gearing up for that nowby emphasizing the need for Unity. If Parties won’t do it because of egos, then we the people must do it. Our vote is an individual one and the only person who can decide where you put your X is you!
Our first aim though is to get people to vote in the first place. Politics is a big turn-off these days, so we must give people a reason to vote.
I hope and pray that the UN give us that reason, something that will energise the country once again.
….. and the more people who climb aboard the Liberationtrain the more likely it is to happen.
The bigger we become the more sway we have.
This train is the only one moving, everyone else is still just talking…..lets make this happen!
Historians gather their material from a number of sources. Political documents, records, newspapers and diaries etc.
Never underestimate the importance of personal diaries because they give a picture of reality on the ground.….a living history.
So, get writing, because we don’t want our future history to be written by people from another country….as we have just now!
There is power in the written word and those who write very often have an agenda. We need truth, not agendas!
With the advent of the internet and now some very powerful search engines, writing an online diary is an excellent way to preserve our history, but that does not negate the personal touch of pen to paper.
Scotland was robbed of its true history and it is only thanks to Salvo that we are now beginning to understand what happened to our country.
Making sure that doesn’t happen again is up to us!
A country’s social history is just as important as its political history.……one often explains the other!
Politicians love to redact their mistakes…
I guess this little project on a flood plain is one that Fife Council might wish to redact in a few years!
Scotland is standing at a crossroads, as yet our future has not been decided. It is therefore important to record things as they happen so that our grandchildren will know exactly what happened….good or bad!
…..and take a pen to the voting booth next year!……I am far past trusting officialsand this Election will have greater significance than any before.
It is so important that we keep the momentum going. For the past few weeks SM has been full of Liberation/Salvos good news, but we must not drop the ball.
There is the ever-present danger of running out of steam while we wait for the big campaigns to start. Campaigns, even messaging campaigns take time to organise.
We are not sheep who need to be led all of the time, we are masters, leaders of our own universe.
We have a voice in our own communities, a voice on X, a voice on FB and some on many other SM platforms. There is no need to wait for instructions, we know what is happening and we need everyone to hear it. We don’t need to be ‘bottle fed’ all the time.
The MSM are not our friends, they have been served notice. The ball is in our court and we must throw it as far and wide as we can!
Democracy dies when the government silences the media, and when democracy dies dictatorship replaces it.
Your words and your voice are the only ones that are going to be heard in Scotland until the story gets so big the media can no longer ignore it.
These are the people taking helping to take our submission forward but many in Scotland are not even aware of it…..we must take up that task because this is history in the making and our future!
Please do not wait, the Salvo information campaign will be big but your campaign starts now!
Become one of today’s Leaders, one who spreads good news for a change!
Do not presume for one minute that Direct Democracy and British Democracy are the same. They are not they are nearly opposites in practice.
With British Democracy, we get a say every 5yrs and as we have once again seen the choices laid before us were shrouded in lies. Once you have put your X on your ballot paper you have handed all your rights over to someone else and there’s no getting them back! Then somehow your wishes are morphed into their Party’s wishes!!
Over the past few years, even government procedures have been allowed to change with the more frequent use of the Royal Prerogativeto do anything they like instead of putting it to a Parliamentary Vote! They do this if they think the Whips will fail!
Once you have handed your powers over, governments can and do anything they like, a promise just becomes a wish list! It’s even more dangerous when you have a PM who courts the international stage at the expense of his/her own people…..which incidentally is what they are legally supposed to do….put country first!
Our present system is Top Down!
Direct Democracy offers something very different and many European countries practice their own form of it.
The bottom–up effect!!
In short, we initiate….we control!….and if they fail to carry out our instructions they get recalled and sacked. Another good point is, that it stops ‘career’ politicians! Our MPs would only serve for a limited time.
We could have a government made up of grafters rather than grifters.
Men and women who want to serve rather than act like masters.
This would stop the greed and the corruption, and by that, I mean the lobbying and ‘brown envelopes’!!
My guess is, that this kind of system would be on most people’s wish list
Well, it’s yours for the taking! And the first step towards change can be made in 2026by voting for any candidate who stands for Liberation and the priciples that Liberation/Salvo stands for.
Your future and the kind of Scotland you want does rest entirely in your own hands.
Let us focus our minds on what can be…not what is!
