Was Scotland betrayed?

I have just returned from a couple of days on the Cowall Peninsula. Last night after dinner I picked up a paper in the hotel lounge…..yes an actual physical paper, can’t remember when I last did that!

It was the Sunday Times!! I decided to read Alex Massie’s piece about How the Independence Dream Died.

One paragraph jumped out at me…Quote.

Cameron gave Salmond everything he wanted in the pre-referendum negotiations. Salmond had the question he wanted, the franchise he desired and control of the timetable”

Now I had always thought that Westminster had controlled everything, but if Massie is correct it was the Scottish Government and the FM who were in control. So the questions I asked a few weeks ago are now even more pertinent.

Why was there no exit polls?

Why were there no recounts when everyone saw Yes votes being piled up with the No’s.

Why was Police Scotland so abruptly stopped from investigating the numerous complaints and illegal dumping of Yes votes?

Was there treachery that night within the Scottish Government and more importantly do those traitors still walk among us?

Nothing has ever sat right with me about that Referendum least of all why it was agreed to have a non-binding one.

….and that appears to be a question no one wants to answer!

The time is ripe for the People of Scotland to take control…no more secret deals….we demand open democracy. Politicians tend to forget they work for us, we pay their wages.

This once every 5-year vote does not serve the people well, so let’s change it starting in 2026!

Scotland has a Constitution, we are Sovereign, the Power is in our hands…..time to use it!

We have just seen what People Power can accomplish when we all get together like so many did to save Loch Lomond from Flamingo Land.

  1. Alex Massie is just stirring. The referendum was a compromise between the SG and WM. I do believe this was probably the best referendum we could get given the times. I also believe if we did win the result would have been declared void by WM due to the irregularities you mention. I don’t think AS thought we would win but it was a means to promote the idea of independence to the people. What we got was a strong platform to move forward and a British state that is still panicking today.

I believe we DID WIN and still question WHY, those ‘disappeared YES votes’ did NOT end in investigation.

Why didn’t Alex Salmond/SNP complain to Police ‘scotland’, who said they couldn’t investigate until ‘someone from the SNP’ (why just the SNP and NOT Sovereign Scots) actually complained.

We would be seen as “bad losers” claim, doesn’t hold up!

If irregularities/something wasn’t right, we should have had an investigation and the hold a REAL Referendum UNDER UN RULES.

It was OUR Referendum, WHY was England allowed any say/interference.

    IT STILL STINKS!

    They’ve been TURBO-CHARGING ‘britain/british/brits’ ever since!”

Adverts ‘british’/britain’ this and that and I’m sick to the back teeth of it!

The weather – SKY’s presenters ‘tie themselves in knots, trying NOT to say ‘Scotland’!

I don’t trust the ‘pretenders’ of the supposed ‘snp’ HIERARCHY, who’ve already announced they’ll continue to bow down/kowtow etc, but maybe in 2060 or ….!

    They’re TRAITORS!
