Imagination!
Imagine you woke up one morning and found out that your long-term partner was not really your partner, and to add to the insult they had been very busy over the years selling off the family silver! How would you feel?
Betrayed, angry and other unmentionable feelings!
Well, that is Scotland just now, we are wakening up to some pretty unpalatable truths about our so-called partner England. Not it’s people but those who sit in Westminster and the unelected House of Lords.
Firstly, they are not their partner, never have been, never will be. They have become our Masters with a townhouse in Edinburgh called Holyrood. The marriage never took place, it was a mirage disguised as the union of two Parliaments coming together to work together for the good of the two countries for Trade etc. Very quickly the biggest partner became the abuser and the rest is history, but not the history you will ever read in a book!
Then came the theft! The one selling off the family silver gained momentum when oil was discovered, the secret they tried to hide until the Acts were all neatly signed and bundled up and again hidden away from sight in case those nasty Nats saw them.
But now we know and we are right feeling aggrieved and angry. Anger is not necessarily a negative feeling, it’s how we use it that matters. If used to propel us into action using the legal means we have, then that is all to the good.
We have the facts to hand, we are building an army of people who are prepared to put their signature to a modern-day declaration of their own. We will take it to where it will be heard and there will be no hiding for those that have wronged us over the centuries.
No need for even a divorce! Just restitution for wrongs done.
