Well it’s been a very interesting 24hrs and set to continue no doubt.
We have Leaders of all Parties in Government giving their opinions and what they intend to do regarding the No-Confidence Vote.
But I am just wondering are any Leaders going to ask their members what they think or even more importantly what action their members want them to take?
That would be real Direct Democracy!
Never mind making backroom deals or threats, let the peoples voice be heard or at very least members!
There is only one Party I know that will do that….guess who?!!
And it’s very important to do that for several reasons not least being we could have two Elections within a very short space of time.
There is a lot of speculation about this but in truth on this, no one has a crystal ball, and a lot of caveats are in play.
One being Humza might panic and jump!
So sit back, popcorn in hand and see how the dice roll!!
It’s amazing how a bit of good news can lift one’s spirits😂 I would dance if I could…but I can’t!
So Humza jumped first and will now lead a minority government. I see a slight problem…its called “revenge”..by the Greens.
Hold on to your hats it’s going to be a bumpy ride for the next 24 months.
In the meantime will there be a SNP leadership fight?
Now is the time to ramp up the pressure on Freeports and SEZS, time to expose the truth and who in the government are up to their necks in it.
The SNP always leaned to the left in Politics so who has gone ultra-right and joined the Tories?
…. and who in Local Government is partnering big money to give access to Common Good land and assets?
“The thief cometh in the night”
Here in Scotland, they come all day every day and no one is policing them.
Today is good news but the SNP are now severely weakened, a minority government can work with the right people at the helm, but is that what we have? Do we have strong Leadership…frankly…NO!
New thinking is required and Salvo/Liberation.scot is there to give it, but will Humza swallow his prideenough to listen or will he boldly march on into oblivion taking Scotland with him?
The opportunity for us to make ourselves heard is now!
Have we become a nation of sheep who blindly follow our Leaders?
Do you understand? Has the game changed for you? Are you now a game changer?
As we learn more and more about Freeports and SEZs we begin to realise that it’s not just Westminster or indeed Holyrood who are imposing this upon us but our own Local Authorities are in on the game!
Maybe I should correct that statement to, some in our Local Authorities are in on the game!
The higher you crawl up the greasy pole the more power you haveor think you have!
When it comes to Party Politics we have huge flocks of sheep following their Leaders, some just keep their heads down and blindly follow, others show a bit of courage only to get whipped into line. Occasionally someone will put their head well above the parapet and rebel but they are few and far between.
We need more rebels and we need to join thembecause our Leaders are devouring us!
Every policy or Law they now so recklessly make destroys our country, our national reputation and even many of us as individuals.
Suddenly Sunak can find £bs for defence but nothing to keep the NHS alive. He says we live in a dangerous world….and who has helped make it such I wonder.
Nothing that is happening today was ever voted for, the wolves have well and truly entered the arena and are eating up the land under the guise of progress and investment.
Will you become a game changer? We need to put Westminster and Holyrood on notice that things will change whether they like it or not. Our present MPs and MSPs think they are ‘entitled’ to remain in charge…the minute they through Independence under the bus they lost that entitlement! So we must now pick up the Thistle and run with it.
Today is Earth Day but I continually find myself saying ‘What on earth is going on’?
When I think of the word Democracy I don’t just think of it as casting a vote but also as openness within the sphere of Politics. It appears there is no such thing now and if you question anything the answer is ‘well that’s just the way it is now’!
Are we really going to sit back and be dictated to in that way?
Did any of our Local Councils consult us on this? Did they tell us most investment monies would be from Private Consortiums plus some from the Scottish Goverment ie our taxes?
Have they explained the tax breaks these companies will get and who will fill the gap?
Do our Councillors even know the answer to these questionsor will they just roll their eyes and say.…it is what it is?
Change can be good, and if these changes are good, why the secrecy?
What on earth is going on behind our backs? Why are secret deals being made and who is profiting?
We certainly won’t be!
There is a darkness about Scottish Politics just now, secrets and lies being the order of the day.
I popped down to George Sq on Saturday, more out of curiosity than anything and as usual heard the cries for Independence. People were desperate for a plan….but there was no plan apart from a quick mention of another Sec30!…and the people sighed!
We are weary of promises that don’t work and many have given up….and that’s just what Humza and his cohort want. Because when people give up and stop interacting the back door opens for Politicians to carry out their hidden agendas.
Suddenly, the land has gone and Freeports & SEZs have arrived and we say ‘How did that happen’?
Well, it’s happened, they are here and we are going to have to deal with the fallout.
So go along to your local hustings and check out the facts and questions you need to ask at;
I must admit that I had a little laugh to myself when I looked up the real meaning of Democracy.
“a government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving periodically held free elections.’
‘The supreme power vested in the people’…mmm
Can’t remember when that last happened, not even in Scotland.
Direct Democracy or pure democracy on the other hand is completely different.
In short, it means we the people decide the policies, not our elected representatives and then our elected representatives [Politicians] have to implement them. In other words, power is taken away from Politicians and they just become administrators working for us!
Oh, how I wish!
The Freeport and SEZ trains have well and truly arrived in Scotland with huge areas of Scotland about to be privatized.
Ignore this at your peril because this affects every service you now get for free.
Slowly but surely the slow creep of Privatisation will take over all our services, health, education, water etc etc and in some extreme cases your land.
Under the Bute House Agreement, the Greens weren’t gagged for nothing but now one or two of them are wondering if it was all worth it.
Libertarianism has become the hidden ideology within the SNP….and you thought it was the gender ideology!!!
The likes of Kate Forbes have been well and truly captured by this new political ideology.
Less Government and more Privatisation is the death of Democracy, even the minimal Democracy we have now.
Our parents/grandparents went to war to defend Democracy, but now its enemy has come in a different guise.
Did we vote for this…NO!
We are sitting back looking at what is happening with the disaster that is Teeside and some cities that are bankrupt thinking it can’t happen here. Wake up folks, it didn’t happen down there by accident, there was a master plan and it’s the same plan that is being played out here with Freeports etc.
Privatisation is about profit not about people and if you don’t get that, we are lost.
Check out the facts
@SalvoFreeports
Now is not the time for apathy, now is the time to let your voice be heard, now is the time for Humza to say to Westminster….. get lost, were off!
Those who have read this book know it’s about our journeys in life but it could equally be used metaphorically about our political journey.
Because it is time for us to free ourselves from the conformity of Westminster, it’s time to walk along a different road, one where we set the landscape and the rules we want tooperate within.
It won’t be easy, but then no new journey is.
For those, who like me have had to walk that journey of self-discovery, we did it because our lives were in crisis and to get out of that situation required change.
Scotland is in crisis because Scotland as we knew it no longer exists.
We need change and we need it now!
The present so-called Democratic system is not working as all the mainstream parties keep moving the goalposts when it suits their agenda and many of those agendas were not the ones we voted for. In fact, they weren’t even mentioned in Manifestos.
General Election days have become days where we are told to speak up and then shut up thereafter.
It’s called an abuse of power!
We have a choice at this GE, we can either continue with the well-trodden path of compliance or take the road less travelled in politics and use the tool of Abstention to carve out a new pathway for Scotland.
One where, through Direct Democracy power is in your hands and Politicians have to carry out your wishes or they can be removed….no ifs and no buts!
Salvo and Liberation. Scot is hard at work carving out a new road within the forest that is at present full of dead wood. They are laying the foundations of a new vision for Scotland.
Who of you, like me are so fed up of all the rants on SM between warring factions within the Independence groups.
This is not a good look! If you have a problem, sort it out privately like adults!
No one party or group owns Independence. The battle for who runs what and when comes after Independence and to be honest looking at some of the contenders I might emigrate!!
The world is looking on and wondering just what a future Scotland might look like. So far the only hope I see is with Salvo/Liberation.scot.
A new Constitution, a new way of governance with Direct Democracywhere Politicians are just the administrators !
Please let’s not keep repeating our mistakes. One-party rule is not Democracy, voting once every five years is not Democracy, and allowing our mandates to be ignored is not Democracy!
We the people must take control because our Representatives are too busy selling Scotland off, some out of ignorance and others to fill their pockets!
If we are being ruled under an illegal premise then surely selling off our land is theft!
So, if challenged after Independence would these contracts within Freeports and SEZs stand?….just asking!
So come on folks let’s fight this first fight united under one theme….Independence!
I was going to say Scotland is marching backwards in time but in truth the whole of Britain is. England is as much at threat as Scotland is from the huge consortiums that are buying up the land.
Freeports and SEZs will eventually cover the majority of land around the country and along with that comes privatisation and the death of democracy.
We are returning to the old days of servatude when Lords ruled the land and the peasants worked it for a pittance. Only this time it is the conglomerates and foreign ones at that who will own the land and those living on it. Your house will not be your own if they want the land beneath it, thanks to Gove including compulsory buying legislation.
But you know what’s funny or not so funny about that fact, Holyrood itself comes within the Freeport boundary!!!
Just think that one through for a minute or two!!!
Another prime example of this can be seen in Edinburgh, the part that comes within the Forth Freeport. A huge amount of housing is being built for rental, but it’s not being built by the authority….its being built and thus owned by Freeport Consortiums! So they profit not only from rents but also from free taxes!!
And this is happening with the full approval of the SG!
We need to learn the lessons from Teeside!
We need to rise up with one voice and say to Humza and Westminster….you have come this far but no further!
Or we will become oppressed people again serving unelected masters.
The new Tax rules within the Cromarty Freeport area became live last week so in some respects and in some places we are already too late to halt the advance of privatisation…..have we time to stop others?
One thing is for sure in 2026 we must take power back into the hands of the people by the ballot box. Politicians must be reminded that they work for us not us for them.
A new system of governance is required…..its called Direct Democracy.
With news coming out last night of the extent of the Glasgow SEZ area, I don’t think we need a Chrystal ball to see what the future holds for ushere in the Central Belt of Scotland.
I don’t think any of us realised just how many Counties would be included.
Privatisation on a huge scale is about to descend on our heads, we may not notice much difference to begin with but the power creep will become evident over the next few years. Alongside it will come the ever decreasing budget to Local Authorities until like some cities in England they go broke!
At that point Mr Gove will step in, selling the Authorities assets and place Private Companies to run the Council.
The death of Democracy at a local level.
The Tory Libertarian Master Plan has been put in place and will continue even with Labour!
I don’t know what Councils have been promised as they sell off our land to the big conglomorites but there will be a price to pay for us as in the short term we have to fill in the Tax gap to keep services running until they too are privatised!
The SNP Council in Glasgow may be rubbing their hands in glee but I doubt that even they understand the enormity of it.
Has there been any public discussion within Councils about these plans? Do they even understand the outcome or is it just those and such keeping things under wraps?
Up and coming Hustings will be an opportunity to bring these things into the light, but in the meantime I have no doubt the Salvo/Freeport Community on SM will have plenty to say about this atrocity.
Were these Freeports and SEZs ever on the Ballot Paper or Manifestos?
Unity amongst Independence Parties has just become even more important!
Someone tried to knock the idea of Abstentionism off the podium this morning….I wonder why.
So let’s start with what it’s not!
Well, it’s not new for a start and when used it didn’t fail! So I suppose we can safely say it’s not a ‘gimmick’ or a trick to attract votes.
Abstention works!
How does it work?
Yep, it’s there in black and white in the Hansard records, all we need to do is [a] Elect new MPs who will endorse that fact or [b] as members persuade our Independence Parties to embrace the power their elected MPs havein their hands.
Abstention is only a tool towards Independence, once applied it would be up to our MPs and the Scottish government to take things forward.
Abstention would do two things, send a clear message that we will no longer play the Westminster game and get the ball moving in the right direction!
The intention of the ISP is to educate the people of Scotland of what is possible through Abstention, a road through a brick wall that thus far has been thought impossible.
They are sowing the seeds!
Westminster by their own admission would have to repeal the Act if we had the courage to walk away, then a newly elected Scottish government would have the job of getting on with it.
…..and work is on the way as to what kind of government we might want.
It’s a long process but no longer than the one we are enduring and losing at the moment.
