The two-party system has dominated politics for too long. [Conservatives & Labour] Although in Scotland it is slightly different there are still Parties who because of their size manage to manipulate the system to their own advantage.

I say ‘manage’ perhaps the word should now be ‘managed’…..past tense!

When membership drops, so does the ability to maneuver the system.

There are pros and cons to a 2 Party system, Those in favour will cite things like, it allows fewer extremists to enter goverment, it can speed up governance and it simplifies things.

On the other side of the coin is, it eliminates the idea of having 100% representation and forces people into fixed ideas, polarising voters.

Individuality ceases to exist.

Well, if it’s convenience over people…..give me people every day!

Q. What do you want to change?

….and do you want it enough to help make it happen?

I ask the second question because it seems that many people expect others to do everything for them. If I am correct in that assumption, then change is going to take a long time to come…if ever!

Liberate Scotland is the place where change can happen, but the power behind it is, people.

You are the tiger in the tank!

Before the 2014 Referendum, the YES movement became extremely energised, we need that energy again.

The name Liberate changes nothing, they are the same people fighting for the same thing we did in 2014, Independence!

2026 can kick-start something different but you have to want it first, then make it happen by voting for it.

We must stop voting for something we don’t want and start voting for what we do want….Independence!

And it has started with this trio…

These are the Parties that answered your call for Unity, these are the Parties that have put Scotland first above any personal interest.

It is time to put an end to self-perpetuating politics and build a system unique to Scotland.

The Power to do that lies within the hands of each of us, so don’t ask ‘what can I do about it’, because you are the only catalyst that can make the change.

Liberate Scotland is the vehicle but you must jump on board.

If I am not mistaken, Liberate Scotland now has 21 Candidates standing in the 2026 Holyrood Elections……this is big and it’s still growing.

These people deserve your support! They are becoming Scotland’s reluctant heroes.

I say ‘reluctant’ because becoming an MSP is not their first career choice, far from it. They are standing because no one else will stand up for our Country…..the present crop at Holyrood has failed spectacularly!

Make that step for Scotland today!

Our trust in politicians is broken, both north and south of the border.

So, what is the answer for Scotland moving forward?

I ask that because like it or not we will always need Politicians, and like it or not good people elevated to any position of authority can become open to corruption.

We cannot change human nature but we can change the way we deal with those who succumb to any type of corruption and we won’t be following Labours footprint. Starmer has become proficient when it comes to changing laws to favour lawbreakers.….and in my book any politician who makes false promises to get votes, is a law-breaker!

Now, when people protest against murder, genocide or corruption, suddenly they become lawbreakers! Free speech is dead, democracy is dead.…..but never forgotten!

Next year we can change all that by voting for a new system and a new kind of government. If it can happen in a country like Kosovo with few natural resources then it can happen in Scotland with all our wealth.

All it takes is the commitment to make it happen and that commitment has to be by the people. Politics will come back into play afterwards, this time with a wee caveat called “Recall”….do as your telt or your oot!!

2026 starts here and now!

Now is the time for preparation for the 2026 Holyrood Election. Now is the time for members from all Indy Parties to lay down their swords and work together. We only have one enemy and that is Westminster!

If you don’t get that the battle is lost before it has begun!

It is time to reconnect with your natural Indy family.

It is time to bring trust back into our lives. The group of people leading Liberate Scotland have made the decision to trust each other.

Barriers have been overcome by focusing on one thing, the most important thing…..Independence and we can see how effective this trust has become.

The question we should be asking people is not, which Party do you support? But which country do you support?

It really has come to something when a Scottish Labour MP chooses to help close Grangemouth in favour of one in Lincolnshire.

Very soon stalls and even maybe Hubs will be setting up over the country, places where you can help or just come for a chat.

Remember action speaks louder than words……ACT NOW FOR SCOTLAND!

Party politics has become a strange creature.

The larger parties believe they have a monopoly on all things political.

The word ‘monopoly’ means to have exclusive control, and believing that, they wield their control over us…..and don’t they just!

Their arrogance allows them to do whatever they like, manifestos blow away in the wind, as reality hits us in the face.

How does this happen? Well in Westminster size matters, the more MPs you have the more power you have. And the one thing they hate is new Parties springing up!

Reform has the Tories rattled, lets see what Corbyns new party will do to Labour. Get your popcorn out, this will be fascinating to watch.

I note that this new Party will after all run in next year’s Scottish Election and guess what, Corbyn hates, Freeports and SEZs!

I do agree it won’t alter Westminster’s stance on Scottish Independence but, we are not ready to demand that yet. In the meantime, Labour still has 4 years to run and if the Labour party splits we could see many more U-turns as panic sets in. The knock-on effect could work in favour for many individuals.

But that’s just my opinion and I don’t intend to fall out with anyone who disagrees with me 😂😂

As a democrat I don’t believe small parties split anything except people’s egos. On the contrary, they bring choice.

Maybe that’s what the bigger parties don’t want us to have….choice.

Because it might take away their monopoly.

But, choice we in Scotland now have thanks to Liberate Scotland. We can choose to stand alone or work together for the betterment of Scotland.

Something very special happens when a country unites. Apart from the practical side, there is this general uplifting feeling.

People start smiling again as hope rises.

But a word of advice for the keyboard warriors, don’t get sucked into arguements with unionist trolls. They don’t want debate they just want to demoralise you. Your energy is best spent elsewhere!

Liberate Scotland has caught the imagination of many and we need to keep the numbers up. Over the next few months you will see stalls popping up all over Scotland.

In the realm of politics, Unity doesn’t count for much. The closest you get is supporting another party with a vote. But up here in Scotland something different is happening and it’s big!……. the cat is well and truly out of the bag, and the Unionist trolls are bricking it!!

Liberate Scotland is made up of independent thinkers, they are individuals who will not be confined by any box.

Why, becasue everything else has failed!

It’s called problem solving and Westminster is the problem we are all having to deal with.

There is one thing however that we are all bad at, we have a habit of saying ‘I’ll do it tomorrow’. Well if there is one thing I have learned this year it is this—we don’t all get a tomorrow.

Because if you don’t, the fight is already over.

The countdown to the 7th May 2026 has started and you know how quickly time passes.

The main parties are already on an Election footing. They may have the money, but do they have the people?

It has just been announced that Jeremy Corbyn’s new Party will after all be contesting some of the seats at next year’s election. I can think of a few who won’t be happy. There will be several Labour hats on shoogly pegs!!

There was a day when ‘members’ equated to votes but now they can be very fickle. Many no longer wish to join a Party, but they do ‘follow’ and the numbers for Liberate Scotland are up, when it comes to voting intentions.

We have work to do!

We must find ways of getting people to engage again, find the spark of 2014.

Everywhere you look, this building is billed as the SCOTTISH Parliament, but is it?

The truth…..

There is nothing Scottish about it, apart from the air outside!! Even the bricks and mortar were bought with English gold!! Holyrood is part of the Westminster estate. That is why it is important going forward that a new Parliament is formed in an independent building.

Check out how Kosovo did it!

These are mighty big steps to take, I know, but a new Independent country must take them if it wants to be recognised internationally and become an Independent Country.

We cannot legislate in a building that belongs to a foreign country! To do so would recognise their autonomy over us.

So, we have a lot of work ahead of us and it has started with ‘Liberate Scotland’.

The SNP will never vacate Holyrood whilst they remain in charge, their preference is Devolution even though they say the word Independence. Had they been serious, we would now be Independent!

A political void has been created and LS is filling it.

If you want to become an MSP because you think its a good career, then this blog and this group are not for you!

Direct Democracy is not about career politicians. There is no gravy train here. You would come…..do your bit…. and then pass the mantle over to someone else.

The other thing about a truly Scottish Parliament is, only Scottish Parties can sit in it.

You cannot create a new Independent country by just changing the peripheries, it has to be root and branch.

…..and that can be painful for some!

There are many crossing this bridge and it has been painful for them, but they have done so out of necessity for Independence. They have understood the importance of ‘country before party’.

It can also be confusing for some, the ‘how will it work’ question is not easy to explain because this is a work in progress. But two words come to mind, compromise and consensus.

Unity is not the norm in Scottish politics. Liberate Scotland walks on a road never travelled before, and that takes bravery and determination.

Normal politics may resume after Independence…….but it will be a new norm!

I have said this before and I will say it again, our country can become anything we want it to be. The future is in your hands.

But we must make it happen!

This wee poster popped up on my FB, I agree entirely, but to ‘make it so’ a number of things need to happen.

Let me deal with one route, it is not my favoured one…YET!

UDI is an option and it may yet become the only one left on the table. But I would prefer to wait until we get a ruling on Colonisation first. Then see what happens.

The Indy buses that are running in tandem at the moment are, the UN case with Salvo/ Liberation [non-political ] and Liberate Scotland [Political ]

For me personally, Liberate Scotland not only has its foot on the gas but it’s the only political group that has listened to the people and has responded…..and it’s the people who matter!

Yes, we may well end up having to take Independence, but we won’t be able to do anything unless a lot more people engage.

A slogan is just a slogan until people take the point and act.

That is why it so important to keep repeating these words..

INDEPENDENCE. NOTHING LESS. NOTHING ELSE.

These words must cover the whole of Scotland.

It is time for us all to take that leap of faith. If we truly believe we have what it takes to become a great nation in our own right, then we need to start making it happen right now!

Liberate Scotland is the springboard.

…..and before Independence can be achieved those seeds need also to be sown.

But who will sow them?

Liberate Scotland has been clearing the field, and a bridge of unity has been built. You know…..the one the Unionists thought was a bridge too far! They should never underestimate the Scots when they have a bee in their bonnet and their battle cry is…Independence. Nothing less. Nothing else.

As Labour reap the chaos they have created, we have an opportunity to do something completely different. In many ways they have become the gift that just keeps on giving.

We can show them what real teamwork is like, by getting out and talking to people, helping with stalls etc. Remember every stall that sets up under the banner of Liberate Scotland exists for you and your dreams.

Become part of your own dream!

Scotland fell for Labour’s lies last year, let’s not repeat the mistake at our Elections. Opportunity does not come knocking every year, but next year it does!

An opportunity for real change…..your change. An opportunity to bring all the jigsaw pieces together.

When those pieces come together, real change can start and a new jigsaw will begin….. building a new independent country, one where we will have all the say. Westminster will become redundant and it will be fun to watch how they manage without our resources considering they can’t even manage with them, as the debt grows by the day.

Fiscal prudence only happens when a country gets its priorities right. Starmer thinks fighting wars in foreign countries protects us…..I think it puts us in the firing line….but then what do I know😂

Well, I can keep accounts for a start!

Spending billions on other wars whilst squeezing every penny you can out of your own people does not balance the books. No wonder the people are turning, and when I say ‘the people’ I mean his own people.

There are advantages about living north of Hadrian’s Wall, we have the opportunity to fix things where our friends on the other side don’t.…not for a while anyway.

May 2026 can become Scotland’s Political Spring.

The elephant in the room is the words, ‘representing their constituents‘ interests. Instead, they invariably represent their Party and themselves!

Why is it that Politicians always punish the people for their mistakes?

In a future Scotland we will need to rewrite a few job descriptions!

And if ever we saw examples of ‘bullying’ and bribery, it was yesterday.

We, up here need to clean up politics. We could start now, but somehow I don’t see it happening…..do you?

Sadly even the word Politician throws up words like money, bribery, and lies. We must change that perception. If we can do ‘cleaner energy’ then we can do ‘cleaner politics’!

Since Liberate Scotland’s inception, we have already seen a few egos fall by the wayside. LS puts the country before anything or anyone.

A new Scottish Parliament will not become a clone of Westminster! We will not replicate Dolly the sheep!

In one sense talking about Scotland becoming a new country is a misnomer. We are already a country in our own right, the change required is to become self-ruling. It’s a political change!

From serfdom to freedom!

Scotland is a good example of where the past really does have a future, with the Claim of Right still being legal today!

The question on my mind today is, if we the people do not stand up for our country….who will?

Because our politicians won’t!

Out of the ashes of 2014 a new group has risen, with new ideas. They are….

When tried and tested no longer works we must have the courage to try something new. The word ‘unity’ is not new but making it work is!

Those of us who make up the Parties involved in this group have all individually made a single promise!

Independence. Nothing less. Nothing else.

We will leave the politicking until later! The more parties there are the healthier the country is.

One of my favourite words is ‘consensus’! The ability to come to a collective agreement. This is what happens when the adults take over and egos leave the room!

This game of ‘Unions’ is one we must walk away from.

Because the rules are stacked against us, and their hypocrisy is off the scale.

They just let Grangemouth die….but for the Lyndsey Refinery, [in England] they want to change the rules!!

It’s a one way street and we are facing the wrong direction. The give way sign always prioritises Westminster.

Devolution will never change that.

We need to take our heads out of the sand and make a stand! It is time to turn our anger into positive energy.

And here is the place to do it!

In the constituences, take your choice…..whoever stands up for Liberate Scotland, but on the List it must be Liberate Scotland if you are serious about change.

Good stewardship of the land is to get rid of the ‘dead wood’ the same applies in Politics.

Remember this when you go to vote next year. Think the impossible then make it happen.

Your dream is there for the taking…….but you must take it.

You are not alone in this fight for freedom, stratergies are being put in place to help you…..people power in action!

…..and it’s bringing out all the trolls on the internet as their panic rises. If you are being insulted on X then you’re doing something right, so take heart.

Our struggle for Independence is not a ‘game’ but game is the idiom I use for comparison. We play chess while the Scottish government plays tiddlywinks with devolution.

So, rise and cross that bridge and be on the right side of history.

I say with your help because this is not about a chosen few saying what will or will not happen. This is your country and your voice is just as important as anyone else’s.

Politicians are still reeling from the many words spoken at Glastonbury…..and there were many!!

But the one thing they cannot do is hide from the root cause.

It is their policies that are stirring up so much hate and disquiet. I think a period of reflection is required rather than fanning the flames as the media loves to do.

As Scotland starts to eek out the kind of country it wishes to become, one thing is for sure, we don’t want to be using the same warped moral compass that Westminster uses.

We can afford to aim high, it’s a blank canvas and we all hold a paintbrush!

So, my plea to all is, get involved at whatever level you feel comfortable with. But one thing we must all do is VOTE!

…… otherwise all of this will have been for nothing!
