Reading has its place, but……..

If I were to ask you why you read particular books or other literature about Scotland what would your answer be?

Do you read to pass on knowledge or just to defend positions already held?

Knowledge is nothing if action does not follow. For decades we have relied on the Ballot Box for action, we now know that ‘voting’ changes nothing, either personally or nationally. Settling down became more important than settling up.

Even ‘trickle-down’ economics dried up, crumbs dished out to one of the richest countries in the world, in the sense of assetts held.

Millions to Share Holders, pennies to the population!

Knowledge is only powerful if we use it, and use it we must…now!

Documents like the Claim of Right and the so-called Union are not holy texts to be poured over, discussed and interpreted as history only. They are real legal documents to be used to regain Scotland’s legal Sovereignty.

The process has begun and there are procedures to follow but that does not mean we just sit on our hands and wait.

If changes within the structure of our movement will help bring about more movement, bring it on!

Sirius.

I have struggled all week to put thoughts into words for two reasons, firstly because of health issues within the family and secondly, the evil that once again is paraded before our eyes 24/7.

I ask myself over and over again, where are the Peacemakers, where is humanity?

On day one, it seemed easier for many to make a judgement, now, not so much.

I will leave that topic there, to do otherwise would be too painful and contentious and I just don’t have the energy for that just now.

Why have I called this piece Sirius?

Sirius is the brightest star in the sky and what we need now in Scotland in the world of Politics, is a person, a group with a serious plan, one that shines out above the rest. One that unites all the people, visible and moving forward with a clear goal in sight.

People are sick of Politics, they have disengeaged, and those that haven’t have leapt from one party to another in frustration and anger. This jump may have been a protest vote, given that there will be a GE next year, a warning shot we need to heed.

We in Salvo have not just an opportunity but a duty to Scotland to shine our light and become more visible. Somehow the Liberation part of Salvo needs to be seen to be moving!

Action speaks louder than words!

There are rumbles of a plan! I hope with all of my heart that this is true because we can wait no longer, Scotland can wait no longer. Politics is dead, Salvo’s light must shine now brighter than ever.

A lot of hot air today!

If the result of the By-Election was ‘seismic’ the hot air following it has been of equal measure!

Anger at boiling point, blame apportioned to everyone and everything but themselves.

But the silent parties, the smaller ones are listening. Listening to understand, what happened and why.

Only by raising our words and not our voices will we be able to truly understand the message given to all Politicians yesterday. By that I mean the kind of words we use are very important. Asking the right questions in the right tone will give us the answers we need to take this country forward.

The voters who stayed at home did so for a reason, we can all speculate, but there may be more reasons than we think!

Maybe this is where Salvo can step in, a movement of people separated from politics yet with the same vision for Scotland.

We need to listen to their fears and their anger and respond in a manner that doesn’t just point to a different way but in a practical way as well.

If we want Scotland to be a caring country, we must practice what we preach, after all, we are Scotland!

Any ideas?

Could Hubs possibly offer other help?

I just feel at this time of crisis voters priorities and needs are not political but practical.

The great divide….

So, the 2023 Tory Conference is over with no mention of Scotland apart from a cheap jibe and a few million thrown at a few towns, they call it levelling up…..I call it an insult given what we as a country contribute to the Exchequer.

How much does it have to take for Scotland as a whole to wake up and realise we are on our own and no one is coming to save us therefore we must do it on our own.

The answer to our situation will not be found by reading books but by doing.

We have both the motive and the means!

I am aware of the fact that a few notable people have joined Salvo lately, well-kent names in the world of the MSM, so there is hope our message will reach a wider audience.

For many of our so-called representatives, the truth is hard to bear simply because they don’t know what to do with it!

Rocking the boat is not in fashion!

Where are the Margos and the Winnie Ewings of today?

I see only two, but then I am biased!!

Our Nation is being plundered on a daily basis, this is no ‘power creep’ but a full-blown onslaught. Westminster say Independence is on the decrease but they know differently.

It’s a case of grab it whilst we can!

We need to move fast before Scotland is stripped naked of its assets.

Think it but never say it……

Cheap jibes can end up costing a lot. Today’s jibe by the PM about NS has shocked many, not just because of what was said, but the place he said it. Parliamentary Privilage does not cover any MP, let alone the PM in a Conference Hall.

I am not a legal beagle so I don’t know if the Law had been broken but I would imagine Nicolas Lawyers will have something to say. My question is, why did he say it? Yes, it got him a few laughs but was there more behind it? Can it even be counted as interfering in the process of the case? All of this will come out in the wash, whatever happens, it showed bad judgement even with those whose love is not lost on our former FM.

Egos have abounded this week on the Tory stage as have the lies!

For me, there is a lesson to be learned for everyone who stands on a stage and addresses the public and that is never to let your tongue run away in order to get cheap laughs and applause. Don’t think it would ever happen to any of us because it could. In a flash our egos can react to a situation, it’s human nature……keep to the script!……and yes I am speaking from experience!

Salvo is surely not about cheap jibes at those who disagree with us. We stand on facts, whether or not others believe them is up to them. If the ground beneath our feet is firm, it will stand the test of time.

Should we laugh or cry?

It’s one of those days when you don’t know whether to laugh or cry at the Tories. Today’s little gem is to rent jail cells abroad because ours, or at least the ones in England are full.

What does that say to the International countries whose eyes are already on Britain? Notice I left off the ‘great’😂

Then yesterday we had the whopping U-turn in North Lanarkshire. It’s amazing what Parties can come up with when there is both a by-election and GE in the wind! Well, I suppose it is the season for new carrots!!

Fortunately, things are stirring in the long grass in Scotland, and the Lion is getting ready to pounce.

I suppose in one way we should thank the Scottish Government for continuing to make such a mess of everything, this makes our case much easier. Tomorrow’s by-election result will reveal a lot. Services and good Laws must come before pet projects. If I was to be jailed for what I’m thinking then I would never be out of jail!

Then again we are all in chains, chained to Westminster illegally, and chained to a Woke SNP up here. We must break both of these continuity chains.

What do people see?

It is said we all have two sides to us, that may be true but it doesn’t have to mean one is good and the other bad…..even in politicians!

In my lifetime, which is quite long, I can count on one hand the number of people in my life who were truly ‘bad people’.

When someone enters politics or even a leader of a group intending to influence politicians, we make judgements about their character and characteristics. There is nowhere to hide! Some are even goaded into letting their mask slip, which often happens. But there are some who truly are the real deal. What you see is what you get!

That is why integrity is so important. Am I biased when I say both the leaders of the ISP and Salvo are such people?

Integrity in public life has always been my threshold for supporting people, if they fail that upper bar, then it’s a no from me.

Yes, I’m fussy!

That doesn’t mean people have to be ‘perfect’…..no one is but it does mean their hearts are in the right place and in this case that place is Scotland and its people.

To show who we really are is in my opinion one of the greatest gifts we have to give. Our personalities will sell the message we have to offer, the message of a Sovereign People ruling a Sovereign Nation once again.
