Cheap jibes can end up costing a lot. Today’s jibe by the PM about NS has shocked many, not just because of what was said, but the place he said it. Parliamentary Privilage does not cover any MP, let alone the PM in a Conference Hall.
I am not a legal beagle so I don’t know if the Law had been broken but I would imagine Nicolas Lawyers will have something to say. My question is, why did he say it? Yes, it got him a few laughs but was there more behind it? Can it even be counted as interfering in the process of the case? All of this will come out in the wash, whatever happens, it showed bad judgement even with those whose love is not lost on our former FM.
Egos have abounded this week on the Tory stage as have the lies!
For me, there is a lesson to be learned for everyone who stands on a stage and addresses the public and that is never to let your tongue run away in order to get cheap laughs and applause. Don’t think it would ever happen to any of us because it could. In a flash our egos can react to a situation, it’s human nature……keep to the script!……and yes I am speaking from experience!
Salvo is surely not about cheap jibes at those who disagree with us. We stand on facts, whether or not others believe them is up to them. If the ground beneath our feet is firm, it will stand the test of time.
