There is a lot of anger and hurt flying around the country at the moment, some of it is about financial struggles as those at the top fill their pockets whilst emptying ours. We feel aggrieved and rightly so. We feel helpless and in some measure we are. Those of us in Salvo believe we have found a way out of these struggles, both for the country and personally but we must also understand, this will not happen tomorrow or even next month!
But we can start showing people what kind of a Scotland we want to see, and we can do that now! We start by caring about those less fortunate than ourselves, the neighbour with kids finding it hard to put food on the table. The pensioner who has to chose between heat and food.
Then there is the kind of anger we fire at people on a personal level, we see that on SM on a daily basis but what about the anger we fire at people personally, not on SM but sometimes publically?
Anger in itself is not a negative emotion but sometimes how we use it is! To publicly annihilate someone says more about that person than the person in the firing line. It shows bad judgement, lack of self-awareness and plain bad manners. It also shows a person is led by emotions rather than critical thinking.
How we reflect a new Scotland starts within us and if we can’t see that then we should not be on a public platform. The measure of any person is how they react to anger and how they deal with their own mistakes. A person who can say sorry is a far bigger person than one who stays silent in the background.
We are being watched because we are worth watching, so let’s keep the movie clean!
The goal……a Sovereign Scotland built on the ethos of the Claim of Right.
