Out of her depth and drowning!

So, our new PM has come out of hiding after spending days writing answers to questions she might be asked about the economy!

This strange account of an interview she gave to a local radio stations says it all. In a series of eight pause-filled interviews with BBC local radio stations in England – snubbing Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland – Truss doubled down on the Chancellor’s strategy with a number of scripted lines.

Note the first part of the report, ‘a series of eight paused filled interviews” have you ever seen that happen before?

If there was ever a statement made about a person’s inability to do their job professionally then this is it. Putting it bluntly she is so out of her depth that she is drowning and the country is going to sink with her.

Perhaps the saddest thing is she doesn’t even realise it.

Someone somewhere is pulling her strings but even they have made a fatal mistake. Because if you’re going to choose someone to do your bidding at least choose someone who looks and sounds competent.

I also note that in a time of National Economic disaster she chose a ‘ Local Radio Stations’ not one of the main ones. Seems she can’t handle scrutiny at the national level!

Standards in public life have decayed over time… Incompetence is the norm. {Jed Mercurio}

Sadly it’s not only in England where this has become the norm. When Governments slide away from their Manifestos, to do their own thing then it is inevitable that the people will suffer.

Pet projects become the focus whilst public services wither. Too much oxygen is given to groups intent on causing divisions.

Labour in Scotland….

I refuse to use the popular saying, ‘Scottish Labour’ because the reality is, there is no such thing.

Sarwar had a lot to say for himself today with his half-truths. The problem is, a half-truth is a lie! He gave the impression that Labour is controlling several Scottish Councils due to their diligence. The fact is they are doing so because of all the deals they made with the Tories. But of course, you can’t mention that if on the other hand, you are demonizing them. A bit of sleight of hand by Sarwar I think who gets away with it because most Tory members haven’t a clue about politics in Scotland nor do they even care!

Half-truths are worse than outright lies because they sound credible, like quicksand they suck you in. Last week I was down in Galloway for a holiday, all along the coast from Kirkudbright there were warning signs for quicksand. The beaches looked beautiful but in reality, they were deadly. Don’t get sucked into Sarwar’s deadly half-truths.

Never forget the legacy left by Labour in Scotland, one we will be paying for many years to come. Never forget also how much they spent in Glasgow denying women a fair wage.

Only one word describes Sarwar and it’s a good Scottish one, ‘Sleekit’

If the Labour Party Persea cant capitalise on the present economic situation then they will never rise again. So far this week they have made some bold changes to their policies and are ahead in the polls.

All of this is irrelevant unless they start backing the striking workers and stop punishing their MPs for turning up at picket lines.

Addicted to money…

So much for the Chancellors’ idea of giving more money to the rich in the hope that they will spend it.

Nimish Shah, CEO of the firm Blick Rothenburg has publicly admitted he won’t be spending more and his tax cuts will just sit in the bank.

I think people need to understand that rich people are only interested in getting richer. They have an insatiable appetite for money that is impossible to satisfy.

In other words they have an addiction which in many ways is no different to that of a drug addict and today’s budget or fiscal event only serves to feed that addiction.

There is an old saying that says ‘money breeds money’ For some odd reason they feel entitled. I am not talking about the ordinary person who has built up a business in their lifetime and is now reaping the rewards, no I am talking about people who feel they are entitled to more at the expense of others. The others being you and me!

We are now in a Recession and we have the Banks and the Treasury pulling against each other, this is not going to end well.

For years the Tories have preached that we cannot borrow more because the debt will be left to future generations to pay off. Now they have completely reversed that policy taking us all into unknown territories. The black hole has just got a whole lot blacker and a whole lot deeper.

Even the media are going nuts about it.

This is reactive politics, not responsive politics. This is panic, blind panic.

Rather than calm everyone, the nervousness has heightened. Even those with no knowledge of fiscal matters know you can’t just borrow yourself out of a hole this immense. They also know who is going to end up paying for it!

Rees-Mogg keeps blaming Putin but my question is, who made those deals, who decided we should be so reliant on Russia?

Surely it is incumbent upon every Leader of a country to plan for the unexpected, always have a planB. We used to store gas but even those storage facilities were shut down. All our eggs went into one basket, a Russian basket!

Have we learned any lessons, I doubt it. Now our future needs are going to be found in Nuclear Power.

Somehow I don’t think Nuclear Power and Fracking go side by side, Britain does not have the safest geological foundations!

But hey, what’s a few minor earthquakes compared with all those profits?

We are not buttoned up the back!

There were benefits to not having good internet on holiday, it saved me from offending so many people as the country went into mourning overdrive!

Now we are back to normality, at least Tory normality. Trickle-down economics, only it doesn’t trickle down to us.

This so-called mini-budget was given so much hype, we were led to believe it would be the answer to so many woes. I think the reality has probably shocked many Tories into embarrassment.

Does this Chancellor, the one who sat laughing during the late Queen’s funeral, really think all these thousands given to the most wealthy will somehow trickle down to anyone?

Will they invest it in jobs, businesses or even their staff?

No chance, it will be kept in their banks helping Bankers get their new bonuses.

The Pound has fallen again today to its lowest since the crash. You don’t get the economy moving by making the rich richer.

Many Tories in the past were outraged when borrowing reached the dizzy heights of a few billion when Labour we’re in government, just take a look at where we are now!

After these announcements, he just couldn’t resist having a pop at those on benefits. One would almost think listening to him that they were to blame for everything.

Work more hours he says, that’s presuming there are more hours to be had! All I hear at the moment is businesses cutting their hours because of energy costs.

The Tories have created a never-ending revolving wheel and for millions, there is no way of getting off it.

I see the ‘Enough is Enough’ campaign is upping its campaign, details they say will follow. One thing is for sure you cannot give so much to the rich and then say to Nurses, Doctors and Teachers there’s no money left.

Today the Chancellor said, ‘today we start to work’ ….the reply from Labour, ‘where have you been for the last 12yrs’ 😂

This isn’t even Trickle down economics, it’s more like a huge fountain sending money up the chain.

The temperature is rising!

Now that Her Majesty’s body has left Scotland you can feel the heat rising. Respect has given way to an eerie feeling of uneasiness and frustration about the discussion that has to take place. Not only are these feelings being felt in Scotland but also in NI and Wales. I suspect that there are also Republicans in England as well .

Will the boil burst before Her Majesty’s funeral, I don’t know.

Listening to the BBC you would think that the Union of Crowns and the Union of Parliaments are the same thing, they are not, they are two distinctly different things. You can be a Monarchist but support Political separation. Scotland needs to have two conversations but should they both run alongside each other?

Scotland seems to have been talking for a long time, in fact, I sometimes think that’s all we do!

Why are we all talking so much about a Referendum that’s not a Referendum, it’s a gesture meant to to make Westminster sit up and listen. Has Nicola not learned yet that ‘there is none so deaf as those who will not hear’ Liz Truss has already indicated she won’t take any notice.

So why are we not going for a Holyrood Plebiscite Election, then if ignored straight to the Hague? Surely the SNP know by now this is where it has to end, such is Westminsters dependence on Scotland.

We don’t need to wait for the cat fight between Nicola and Liz Truss, we have the powers use them. Action is needed not more talk.

One thing is sure as we witness some of the King’s traits, he does not take after his mother!

Hate the Monarchy if you wish, I am quite ambivalent about the whole thing. One thing that will surprise many is that before Her Majesty’s committal in St Georges Chapel in Windsor all of her Titles will be removed and she will journey on as a Commoner!

There are no earthly Kings or Queens in Heaven! We are all equal before God.

The wrong time for Politics…

To my mind this shows the new Prime Ministers’ intention to be fully involved with the Devolved Parliaments whether she is invited to or not. “The PM believes” shows this is her decision and not an invite by anyone.

To my knowledge, a sitting PM has never accompanied the Sovereign during their duties in the Scottish Parliament.

This is not her role and as such is making a political statement in doing so, and this is not the time for Political statements.

Exactly what does she think she is going to do, what role in the proceedings does she think she can hijack?

Or will she just hang around like a spare part?

Is this her first big mistake? Muscling in on sad events sends out all the wrong messages. This is not about her. However, what it does do is it gives us all a glimpse into her personality. “Look at me, I am so important” …….NO you are not Prime Minister and this is neither the time nor place to pretend so.

Scotland does not need your help to mourn and King Charles certainly does not need your help to carry out his duties either.

Over the years he has fostered a relationship with the people of Scotland, you haven’t!

Whether Monarchists or not, Scots respect the moment.

Every last drop….

The new Energy Secretary has said he will get every last drop of oil from the North Sea. Maybe the penny will now drop down South that they cannot do without Scotland.

Scotland is a net exporter of Electricity yet we pay the highest charges.

People down South ask why Scotland is always moaning, well if they took a closer look at how we get ripped off considering how much we contribute to the UK economy as a whole they just might begin to understand.

If you want to keep people loyal, look after them! You don’t bite the hand that feeds you, and you certainly don’t lie to them.

So, in order to get ‘every last drop,‘ I guess the Paris Agreement will be ripped up.

Needs must, they will say, as Climate Change rages across the Earth. Funny how no other country is taking this approach. I suppose going Green doesn’t put money into pockets as much as oil accomplishes.

This is indeed a ‘nuclear’ approach and one which one day soon blow up in their faces.

The problem is, we will all suffer, non more so than our kids and grandchildren.

Be afraid, very afraid as to what lengths Westminster will go to to achieve it’s goals.

Really Prime Minister…..Really?

Image is everything, especially in politics.

I wasn’t going to inflict this on you, but needs must!

It is one thing to reward your friends but quite another to give some two jobs! This is not the kind of image you want to see of your new Health Secretary. Videos are also appearing online of her rather inebriated at a party, even trying to sing.

Now I know everyone has a right to a private life….but really. Also, her record in her last job is rather telling, refusing to publish reports that make her look bad, and bad she is! Some claimants would even say, evil.

I wonder if there will be a new smoking policy in England.

I see Rees Mogg is also returning after saying he wouldn’t. Business and Energy Secretary no less, this will be interesting especially when it comes to investing in the future energy projects. He is a master at making money for himself.

To understand that more you have to look at his father and the books he wrote.

https://www.theguardian.com/books/2018/nov/09/mystic-mogg-jacob-rees-mogg-willam-predicts-brexit-plans

Like father like son! No need to wonder who will benefit from this post. But at least he will have to deliver his boss’s immediate plan.

I wonder if any Bookies have put up any odds as to how long she will last in this very disunited Conservative Party as PM.

Two jets to take two people who are best pals up to Scotland to see the Queen!

Not exactly a quick solution!

The Tories want to build more Nuclear Power Stations at a time when most of the rest of the world is decommissioning theirs.

It takes roughly 10yrs to build one of these monstrosities and they don’t produce cheap energy.

Whatever happened to the promised COP 21 Paris Agreement? I thought these were legal abiding agreements.

Surely common sense says Greener Energy solutions are both cheaper and quicker to construct.

Producing nuclear waste is not in the long-term interest of either our children or the planet. Westminster is well known for saying we can’t keep on borrowing then expect our children to pay for it, well our children will certainly pay for it when we come to disposing of nuclear waste and it won’t be in a good way.

Suddenly Climate Change has taken a back seat in order to address an energy crisis which doesn’t exist or doesn’t need to exist.

We already produce enough for our needs, or would if we didn’t sell it off just to buy back again! Just think about that for a moment, because that’s what is happening in our crazy geo-political world.

When it comes to Energy we should not be thinking global at this moment in time, we should be thinking domestic and domestic only.

Surely it is the job of every government to make sure its people have warmth and food, yet we are paying global prices for our energy. This is particularly so in Scotland and Cornwall I believe. Just look at the Standing Charges, 50% more in Scotland than in London, for our own Electric. Meanwhile, the profits of these companies are astronomical.

We were told privatisation would bring competition, and competition would bring down prices, it hasn’t! They are all charging the same……I call it collusion!

Privatisation is the biggest Tory lie ever told. The only people who gain are the shareholders.

When is the penny going to drop in Scotland?….you are being played!

If you can’t win honestly then do what you have to, to win!

Loss

There was a time when one felt if it’s in the Times it must be true, so is this rumour true? The idea of changing the rules is not new, they did it in 1974 so why not again?

Only this time makes the rules harder because people are more politically aware.

Is this Westminster’s first salvo to scupper the plans of the SNP and if it is, does it by default play into the hands of SALVO?

Or will they be next?

Are these rumours just that, rumours?

Governments are good at leaking stories, it’s their way of keeping silent. They get others to fire the bullets then sit back and see what happens.

As I said before this idea of fixing the results has happened before and was recently mooted again in the House of Lords and I have the feeling they may run with the idea again.

So what then? A plebiscite Election?

Plenty of time for them to change those rules as well.

The elephant is still in the room.
